Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation

Volunteer at an Animal Rescue Sanctuary with the most impact in Africa

TRUSTED AND RECOGNISED

Our team has been the first Zimbabwe-based turnkey provider of cross-cultural exchanges through volunteering, and internship placements at matched organisations.

Work and live at a true animal sanctuary, where injured and orphaned wildlife is taken in for treatment and rehabilitation, then prepared for free release back into the wild once they are able to fend for themselves. A total melting pot of farm animals, birds, dogs, cats, and big game make up this animal safe haven. This wildlife conservation programme is like no other in Africa, the big game for example are not handled neither by the permanent staff nor volunteers.

The rule of thumb with wildlife management and rehabilitation is a hands-off policy on wild animals being prepared for release back into the wild, and this is the difference with other “sanctuaries” that have no record of releasing these animals back into their natural habitats. If you’re looking for an impactful African animals volunteer programme, you’ve come to exactly the right place.

African Animals Volunteer Programme Highlights

WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY

Work and live at a true animal sanctuary where injured and orphaned wildlife is taken in for treatment, rehabilitation & then released back into the wild. Each individual animal is given care and attention with the goal of releasing them back into the wild once they are able to fend for themselves. It’s a highly impactful programme that works closely with the surrounding communities, where residents bring their dogs to be fed and receive rabies vaccinations free of charge every Tuesday. Veterinary, pre-veterinary and vet tech students have an opportunity to immerse themselves in further work with the resident vet at the private clinic practice in the city centre.
