Travelling is something that is on most people’s life bucket lists and for a good reason too! Visiting other places broadens your mind in a way that nothing else can. Yes, we have the internet and can look up any place, pictures of it and all the facts that you can ever want to know but nothing beats actually being there in person and experiencing it firsthand. A lot of people visit the continent of Africa for many reasons and visiting Zimbabwe in particular offers a wide range of experiences that will blow your socks off (although you will probably won’t need socks,  we have warm weather). Seeing a lot of people wanting to visit Zimbabwe and getting overwhelmed with everything there is to do in Zimbabwe we decided to step in and be our visitor’s compass, tour guides, travel companions and local connection to get great bargains on everything. Our experiences include:

Half Day Tours

Harare Inner-City Tour

Oh where to begin! Harare is a hotchpotch of everything that one might imagine. Tradition and modernity, luxury and austerity, the young and the very old, formal markets and informal hustlers, national heritage sites, crafts markets and lots more. I was born and raised in Harare and I have scratched the surface of what to do in the sunshine city!

Township Tour

One of the experiences that we take you through is a township tour in one of our oldest suburbs, Mbare. You will see creativity in unimaginable ways. Mbare market will show you how Zimbabweans are true self-taught artists. There are hand woven baskets, wooden art pieces, hand-made clothing or mats material. There is a whole informal sector where they create jobs, teach each other skills, trade and they do all this with the greatest attitude that leaves all our visitors stunned. It’s a low income environment but one where you see some of the happiest faces in the country. You will get to see traditional Nyau dancers who entertain crowds for fun and as a part of their religious customs.

You will never run out of art to ooh and aah over.

Chillspot: Home recording studio

They talk about most businesses starting in a garage and Chillspot is no different. It’s a recording studio in a home in the high density suburb of Mbare. Most artists are either self-taught or teach each other how to do music and record and the magic that comes from there is mind-blowing.

Traditional healer visitor

Traditional African medicine has come to be known as alternative medicine and the practitioners are also some of the most fascinating people about our tradition. You will get a chance to visit them and ask as many questions as you want and even have your future foretold if you wish.

Full Day Trips

Lake Chivero is just outside the capital city and is a scenic place with animals to see and possibly interact with. Most people come to Africa for the amazing weather and to see animals and natural landscapes that are only unique to us.
