Zimbabwe has programmes for medical students looking to do their clinical rotation overseas. It may be a daunting thought but experience outside of your community gives you an opportunity to gain a global view on certain problems. Also, you learn the difference between the public and private healthcare system in a developing country. What may be in the media may not be entirely true of the realities on the ground.

Having a global view of healthcare inspires innovation. Zimbabwe has a wealth of knowledge in the medical field with healthcare personnel qualified to do the job, however, resources are lacking and the patients are not like what you have experienced before. This presents a challenge. A challenge which inspires innovation and with this innovation, you will be able to better the communities you may work in.

When you visit Zimbabwe, you find something to love and with that love, you develop a soft spot for the landlocked country. Travel and stay in a local community outside of the major cities and you’ll experience love as you’ve never felt before. Love is powerful and it has seen organisations like the Kapnek Trust build a legacy in Zimbabwe. James Kapnek, an American entrepreneur found great financial success in Southern Africa in the late 19th century and decided to leave his fortune to build communities in Zimbabwe.
