The youth of Zimbabwe are an integral part of our vision and one of the very first initiatives we got underway had to involve them. The HeartBeat project focuses on developing the concept of servant leadership within the Zimbabwean youth. Our Business Development Executive, Wesley Maraire has visited several High Schools with a message to the young people, encouraging them not to waste a single heartbeat on negative thinking.

To kick-start the project, Wesley visited Makumbe High School, and held a motivational speech for the pupils and after the talk, the local artist Probeatz performed. Probeatz is an up and coming beatboxing artist and he is the perfect inspiration for the Zimbabwean youth of how positive thinking and personal passions will make you move forward and succeed. In November, Probeatz also won the DreamStar talent contest, which verified the importance of continuously staying positive about your own future in order to achieve your goals.

Lastly, dance fitness instructors from the AfroFit programme at African Dance & Wellness taught a class of their TambaTamba workout to the pupils, which got their heartbeat going. In the spirit of collaboration, the HeartBeat Project is now a movement that other development experts are taking into high schools and other organisations and putting their own spin on it, all with the aim of encouraging positive living. volunteering Probeatz in front, from the left Valeria, Kuda, Noni and Blessed.
