CORONAVIRUS STATEMENT

Tiritose Sustainable Travel has been providing students and youth with impactful internships and volunteering placements in Zimbabwe for over five years and as the only sustainability accredited organisation in Zimbabwe through the UN-supported GSTC, we are best placed to weather the current challenges.

You are assured that throughout these uncertain times, our commitment to our staff, communities and travellers is unwavering. We are however truly sorry that your travel plans have been impacted by this global pandemic and we are grateful for your patience and support while we work with our ecosystem partners to coordinate the postponement and cancellations of the booked programmes & experiences.

We continue to be guided by the direction of the Ministry of Health & Child Care in Zimbabwe and following closely the advice from the Centre for Disease Control, World Health Organisation, the UK & Australian government travel advice.

WHAT IS THE TIRITOSE SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL POLICY ON BOOKED & ENQUIRING PARTICIPANTS?

What you need to do:

1. Travel insurance: please make sure you choose a travel insurance provider that covers you for any eventualities that may arise during your stay with us. We have comprehensive insurance and relationships with doctors and hospitals to support your own travel insurance. Tiritose Sustainable Travel has a partnership with World Nomads, which provides coverage for hospitalisation among others.

2. Before you travel, make sure you visit your local Zimbabwe Embassy or Consulate in order to receive the most up to date information. Updates on the pandemic and how countries are reacting are changing multiple times a day, so we encourage you to visit the embassy directly and consult with your airline because combined, these two sources of information will help you understand information from the point of origin, transit areas and the destination.

3. Covid-19 test: ensure you are tested 72-hours prior to departure date, which will help us with ensuring we keep our staff, other participants and local partners safe. Should testing not be possible from your home country, please contact your TST Placement Advisor in advance.

WHAT IS THE TIRITOSE SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL POLICY IF I AM NOT ABLE TO TRAVEL?

Our regular cancellations and refund policy for individual programme participants, deposits are non-refundable, and you are able to recoup these funds through your trip cancellation insurance. We utilise your programmes fees in advance through this policy, which enables us to make arrangements two (2) months ahead to your arrival.

We are however, not immune to the current unprecedented and uncertain times and we have worked with our ecosystem partners to identify areas we can offer flexibility in order for everyone to cope during this challenging time globally. As such, we are implementing a revised policy; Tiritose Sustainable Travel Amended Coronavirus Terms (TST ACT):

30 days or more prior to programme start date, individual participants are able to:

  • Cancel programme & receive full refund
  • Cancel programme and hold on to your programme fee for a future trip
  • Change programme dates without any change fee

29 days or less prior to programme start date, individual participants are able to:

  • Cancel programme at receive 50% refund

City sightseeing and day trip travellers will receive full refund should they cancel within 12 hours of the booked date.

NB: GROUP PROGRAMMES/BOOKINGS – your individually agreed terms and conditions apply, and you will discuss these with your Booking Consultant and agree on a case-by-case basis.

NEED TO KNOW MORE?

It’s our sincere hope that through the ACT policy, we can support our participants and travellers through these unprecedented times. Please do contact your Placement Advisor or Booking Consultant for any further questions or clarification based on your individual/group situation.
