Ralf talks to Wesley about the experience he & 11 other colleagues had volunteering their time & skills in Zimbabwe as part of their social sabatical sponsored by their company SAP. Most of all, Ralf is grateful for the new friends he was able to make because of this trip and how impactful his time in Zimbabwe was on his perspective, which has made him more critical of the way German news portrays other destinations.
Ralf recommends folks travel slow & travel deeper into the destination so that you can see and explore areas outside of the usual tourist spots. He went to an authentic, traditional Shona sculpture village & a hike overlooking the mighty Zambezi River in Mavuradona.
